Books for the Blog

Reading suggestions inspired by posts and comments on Deep History and Domestication:

For Bill’s post, “Food for Thought,” (2/4/13), I recommend two wonderful books about humans as prey:

First, David Quammen’s, Monster of God: The Man Eating Predator in the Jungles of History and The Mind.  The title is suggestive.  But for truly hair-raising, expectation confounding, make you sit back and really rethink your place in the universe reading, check out John Valliant’s, The Tiger. A True Story of Vengeance and Survival.

For our discussion of parasites on March 19:

Drink your worms: Rob Dunn, The Wild Life of Our Bodies: Predators, Parasites, and Partners That Shape Who We Are Today
