These traits can be for strength, speed, or just for pure aesthetics. There are many different types of Laikas throughout Russia all bred for the specifications of that area. So this specific type of Laika was bred specifically for the Urals. Now in an age where dog breeds are held more for aesthetics rather than as working dogs the breed is being bred all over the world.
