Comment on Making Red Warriors out of Peasants by kschnabel

Nice post! I really like the image you included. It is interesting to see how Lenin and others applied their ideology to re-imagine military order. I agree that it is hard to imagine an army without rank. I would be interested in learning more about how the Red Army operated.

Nice post! I like your focus on the Constituent Assembly. I think a lot of people tend to focus on the violence that brought the Bolsheviks to power, but Lenin’s moves after the revolution really solidified his power.

Comment on Mounting tensions cause setbacks for the Bolsheviks by kschnabel

It’s difficult to know if a seizure of power could have happened for sure, but Sukhanov’s account made it seem like there was significant manpower (particularly when he discusses the Kronstadt workers). I think it would probably be difficult to take power without proper organization. It’s interesting to speculate nonetheless!

Comment on Who are you? by kschnabel

I really enjoyed this post! You really captured the inherent mystery that exists in old photographs. It is interesting that while we will never know exactly who these women were or how they felt, but they’re lives are forever preserved in this photo. I liked that you incorporated information about Russian women in this time frame to try to understand the subjects of this photo better.
