Comment on Higher Education, Technology, & Infographics by Ishi Keenum

Thank you for your insightful post. I am just at the cusp of remembering being taught how to do research in a library but never remember actually having to do it. I believe the reach and openness to education and knowledge that the internet acheives is truly something no one could have foreseen 20 years ago but I also really think a lot of fields are lagging behind in how to embrace classroom online instructional tools.

Comment on Racism, Yearbooks, and the Modern University by Ishi Keenum

This is a great point and I’m glad you brought it up. I think the fact that these exist is not surprising but it should not be celebrated or made light of. Acknowledging our history is important but also those actions are unacceptable today and that needs to be said. Just because it was ok then doesn’t mean it is ok now nor should it be blown off as minor. I don’t think its a part of teaching diversity and inclusion though, its more of an issue of historical context and highlighting why we have improved.
