Yeah… By the way he throwing out this result to the general public instead of getting reviewed by the peers, it is hard for me to trust whatever he said in his experiments. This is different from an emergency such as water crisis or disease breakout etc. This is more about a scientific progress in nature. As a matter of fact, he is attending the second gene editing summit in Hong Kong this past two days…

Comment on What is a college’s responsibility to students? by mksatyal
Feel free to rant here. It’s disheartening that investing in education (both K-12 and higher ed) doesn’t seem to be a priority.
Comment on Connecting the Dots! by Farha
Nice post Khushboo! I can relate to your story and remember experiencing discomfort whenever classes did not progress the way I anticipated or I am accustomed to. However, with time and experiences, all of us grow and learn; hopefully through some reflection, finally be able to understand the underlying meaning of a task and how it might have shaped us, the way you came to realize the motivation behind the task assigned by your teacher. Thank you for sharing your story.

Comment on Do the Work by hjmajeed
Thank you for posing these questions to yourself, Jake. I might copy them down to ask myself every now and then. I think I am in a place in my life where I just go, go & go—not often stopping to dig deep within and reflect on if my actions are rooted in my values and aspirations, until these are challenged. I’m sure many people feel this way. This path is not an easy one, and you’re right. We need to do the work if we want reach back to bring others forward.
Comment on Modern Teaching by Haniyyah Majeed
Have faith! Just by taking this class shows that you are willing to do the work to practice “modern” teaching. And don’t forget that the little things count!
Comment on Engineering and Humanities by hjmajeed
“STEM education usually demands reciprocation of information for most of the curriculum and then originality suddenly at the end.” I say this ALL the time! I felt disappointed when I finally got to senior design because I felt so unprepared. I think I echoed this in my own blog post this week. We have to get learners involved early!

Comment on Modern Teaching by Khushboo Gupta
Hi Anna, I loved your post, specially how you highlighted and described ‘modern’ teaching. Modern teaching may mean so many different things to each of us and it would vary when we talk about different specializations.
Comment on I Multitask, Not by Khushboo
I admit that I am not a good multi-tasker. But I love to watch some movie or episode while I am cooking and I guess that is because we use different parts of the brain when we are physically involved in something and mentally involved in something else. Another multi-tasking I can think of is that I love to listen to something while drawing/painting.

Comment on Life Experience Matters. “Knowing is not Enough” By Efon by Farha
Hi Efon, Nice post! I agree with you that experiences are invaluable. I have friends who were amazing students and researcher, however, often times they struggled in the job interviews. It can also be challenging as a professional and cultivating professional skills is paramount in producing new professionals.
Comment on New Professionals in the Writing Classroom by Khushboo Gupta
Thank you for this interesting post. When I was reading it what I was reminded of his Humero’s example, when he came to the class and explained how difficult it was to convince the department people to agree for PBL strategy to be used for a class. And I think more such brave people are needed in this profession.
