Comment on Critical Pedagogy by dalya88

I liked the fact that you explained your interpretation of the “banking concept” because the way I understood it was exactly the same. That our role as educators isn’t limited to “spoon-feeding” students, and that giving them the space to think about what they learn and reflect upon it is one of the key parts of a successful education system. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Comment on Teaching Innovation by dalya88

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The start of this blog well transitioned between what we previously read about and the current topics – I found that helpful. I agree that recording lectures can be a large benefit to committed students. As you said you can go back easily to any part that is unclear and focus during class. My only concern is that some students might not focus in class, or might not attend class at all knowing that they’re backed up. Do you think those 2 concerns can be resolved?

Comment on Mission Statements of Higher Ed in Morocco by dalya88

Great post, thanks for sharing your views about the universities in Morocco. This statement seems to be the one you mentioned in class: “Both of these universities are aimed at renewing Moroccan elites while concentrating on research in particular.” Most universities focus on the generic themes such as research and knowledge gain, but I like how others choose certain words to express themselves (renewing elites), which is what really makes them shine!

Comment on I’m Not Judging You, But I am Grading You. by dalya88

The title of your post caught my attention! I guess I have been in situations when I witnessed my friends being judged by the instructor for not achieving top marks, especially when assessments are given out in order of highest to lowest! I always took assessments and grades so seriously, including the number on the scale! lol I better start chilling a little bit.

Comment on 2/1 MINDFUL LEARNING by dalya88

Thanks for summarizing the 5 different psychological states. Which one would you think is the most important in mindful learning? I personally believe that students lack the openness to novelty, and it is our role as instructors to help them achieve that through the activities assigned both in and out of class.

Comment on A Lesson in Mindful Learning by dalya88

Thanks for sharing your personal experience! I sure feel it is important to allocate time for both course work and research. I also believe that students might copy our habits since they look up to us, especially the younger ones, which makes it more important for us to plan our time well and become more mindful in both our teaching and learning.
