Comment on Future of the University by Maymoonah

I would have to agree with you that science is advancing more quickly than our understanding of its effects on us as a species. I personally went to a liberal arts school, where I did an engineering degree. It was a relatively unconventional approach, where I got to study subjects like culture, philosophy, language, history, due to it being a part of the degree requirements. In hindsight, I think that a more diverse knowledge has helped me ask questions in meetings related to Artificial Intelligence that relate to the ethical implications of my chosen specialty. Are the ethical constraints on automated vehicles well understood and applied by the engineers who build them?
