Comment on It’s (Not) Five O’Clock Somewhere… by gabriellem99

It always is tricky to think of a way that can be effective! I do think the anti-alcohol campaign was an effort to legislate social problems but like stated above, people found illegal alternatives. I thought regulating the time of sales of alcohol could be an effective idea however again people would find ways around this as well. Maybe harsher laws for people intoxicated in public or driving could be found useful. All in all, I think it will always be a controversial topic!

Thanks! It is exactly a double standard that women were held up to. Women were expected to do everything, but were not truly acknowledged, or seemingly “satisfied” if they did not have a man in their life.

Thanks! I agree though with the message the movie is sending. It is really disheartening thinking about the girls who watched this and felt like they could not truly be successful without a man.

Thanks! I agree that the sentiment is ridiculous. There are plenty of women who have proven they can balance motherhood and a career just fine and I think they are incredibly powerful for being able to do it.
