Comment on The Hidden Brain Also Has Hidden Bias by Dalya Ismael

I agree with you when you stated that usually the term inclusivity refers to the common 3 topics of race, gender, and sexual identity, when there are many other aspects that are forgotten. All sorts of inclusivity topics should be discussed with students in the classroom to get them comfortable with their peers and less biased internally or externally towards people. Comment on I’m Tired…. by Dalya Ismael

I really like how you use your experiences to assist you in your teaching tools like the syllabus. Using the correct words can have a large impact on the students’ desire to remain registered in a class. Other than that, I love the first gif! I wonder how you answer those questions with so much patience! Thanks for posting!

Comment on Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy by Dalya Ismael

My opinion about open access is similar to yours. I believe that our role as researchers and educators is to benefit the public. The public needs US to solve their wide range of problems from health, to transportation and sustainable development. We need to hear the public, and conduct research according to their needs, and provide them with our results. Unfortunately, what is happening now is the opposite, faculty conduct research for their own benefit, and not for the publics benefit, and whether it addresses the publics’ need or not, is not the main concern. Comment on The musings of a feminist by Dalya Ismael

Iris, I enjoy reading your blogs since they mostly relate to personal stories you choose to share. The ability to to “encourage women, like no man” can is an important trait that I believe is missing especially in certain parts of the world. One of the blogs I read this week mentioned how female students are always known to be bad at maths. These assumptions discourages them in general. No assumptions should be made on gender, race, culture, or religion. as future professors we need to propel all the students forward.

Comment on How will I be a New Professional? by Dalya Ismael

As you mentioned there is no right way to become ‘New Professional’. Every educator will have to adapt their teaching pedagogy to each individual course, as they might require a different learning strategies. Not only that, but some students require individual support. All in all, I believe creativity and passion will be a strong driver to teaching success.

Comment on Destination Unknown? by Dalya Ismael

Love the last gif! I personally wasn’t aware about the new initiative of ‘Destination Areas’. Im glad our university is taking action in those topics. One of the main problems is that people are unaware of the economic and societal needs of the world. Therefore, this will not only result in the creation of transdisciplinary teams, but also raise awareness to those worldwide issues.
