Thanks for the post! I agree that the professors need to be evaluated, but I’m not sure if monitoring them is a good way. My concern is that everyone can have a different teaching style, and some people might just not appreciate others’, while different teaching styles can also be as good as others. Also, I don’t like the idea of being monitored while I’m teaching. I could get nervous and not teach as well as I should be.

Yes of course all of us have faced bad lectures. Personally, I faced a lot. All the bad lectures I faced were sharing one main common factor which is “reading from the slides”. The professor having his own slides and he is just reading them for us! Most of the time I slept during those lectures.

Thank you for this post!
I had the same problem in my country. All my life was a bunch of tests from my first day in school to my pre-masters study. When I came to the US, things were different. Instead of having tests, I now have assignments
But to me, assignments is much better than tests and may be less stressful.

I believe that planting curiosity and motivation for learning in our kids nowadays is really a challenge. I am sure if you give ipads or laptops to kids, most of them will spend more than half of their time playing games and listening to music. Accordingly, education through games has enjoyed a great attention from education researchers. The idea here is to provide kids with useful games that convey the required concepts in a way that kids like.
